Avocado Love

Avocado Love

Morning! It's Deborah here with you today. We're halfway through our special week focusing on the Colorado Craft Company. I really like their Big & Bold range of stamps, and you've seen several cards using this range in previous posts. Today I'm using the stamp set Avocado Love - one of my favourite fruits, and it really is a fruit, but I like it in savoury dishes. Anyway, enough of that, here's my first card:

I stamped the large avocado image on white card, coloured it with Copic markers, restamped with Versafine and heat embossed with clear powder. I replaced the image in my stamp positioner and stamped the sentiment with Versafine and heat embossed with white powder. There are matching dies, but I fussy cut the image. I associate avocados with Mexican food, so I found some 'Mexican' style design paper in my stash cut it to size and layered it on black card, I added the whole panel to the front of a white card. I used a stitch edge die to cut a piece of vellum added it to the card and finished by adding the avocado.

On the inside, I stamped the flowering branch and cut avocado in kraft ink and added the sentiment in black. It's a fun sentiment. This card is for my hubby and he'll appreciate the sentiment - he likes guac and chips (crisps to us in the UK) too. I added a strip of the design paper to the side. My second card features the open avocado:

I stamped the image on white card, coloured it with Copics, restamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. As the avocado has been cut open, I created a card that suggests a side in the kitchen. I used black cardstock for the card base and found this 'tile' paper in my stash. I added a panel of it to the top of the card. I cut a strip of kraft card onto which I stamped the sentiment - love a good pun!! I adhered it to the card and then added the avocado.

The inside is very simple. I cut a piece of white card onto which I stamped the avocado image in kraft. I left a large space for the message. I think this card is going to my son.

That's all from me today. See you again next week.
