Big Congrats

Big Congrats

Hello...... I've been mixing old and new products again for todays card, which is very sentiment based as you'll see.....

Sometimes a word is enough and this Big Congrats from Avery Elle certainly takes the space on a card front. I love that it comes with a separate die to cut a backing layer for the word which enabled me to use vellum to mute the colours and pattern behind and allow the word to stand out more. The streamers and confetti are stamped using the Concord & 9th Celebrations Turnabout which is a good multi-use set for your stash as it can cover a multitude of themes. I went for a colour combo that wasn't too bright and colourful and, in my opinion, is suitable for many occasions and ages.... that's the good thing about these turnabouts.

The turnabout comes with a few small complimentary sentiments so I added three using the Lets Chat speech bubbles from Mama Elephant. To make them stand out but still fit in with the colour scheme, I used three of the same colour inks to colour a small piece of cardstock by swiping the pad directly accross the surface. Once dried, I stamped the words and cut the speech bubbles.... I had to customise two of them by using the partial die cutting technique to make them slightly shorter so they had a 'snug' fit around the wording.

Inks used for the turnabout are Lemon Ice - Altenew,  Golden Meadow - Versafine, Soft Granite & Blackboard - Hero Arts

I'm pleased how it turned out, those big word dies can be tricky to place on a patterned background but I think the vellum trick has helped for this one and I love the 'sophisticated' black and gold style colour palette too :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
