Jen here and today I'm trying out a new technique - colouring 3D embossing folders using Altenew Decorative Florals.

This simple technique will help you get more out of those embossing folders. I decided to use alcohol markers but you could use any colouring medium you like.

I started by embossing white alcohol marker friendly card stock with the 3D folder on a piece of a2 card stock. Using the pens I coloured the raised areas of the design and blended them out with the blending pen for a little extra interest.

I kept the colouring simple but you can go into as much detail as you want to - this took me about 30 minutes.

I finished off the card with a simple lable style sentiment - there are lots of these to chose from in the store but you could also white heat emboss any sentiment onto black card stock for the same effect.

I'll definitely be trying this again with other embossing folders and colour combos. I just love the dimension the card has.
