Birthday Queen

Birthday Queen

Hello! Do you like bling? I do, and I love a card that sparkles, and I think birthday cards are ones that you can really go to town on. Here's the card I made:

I used Colorado Craft Company's large Big & Bold - A Queen's Crown, for this card. It didn't need much else!! This is a big card measuring 5" x 7". It's another of the cards that Kat asked me to make for one of her friends. The crown image is so pretty. Initially, I was going to stamp it and emboss with gold powder, but I ended up keeping it reasonably simple. I picked teal ink and matching card, and stamped the crown in the middle. I stamped "Yas Queen" to the top left in black ink. I adhered the panel to some green satin mirri card, and added the whole panel to the front of the card. I then spent a while adding lots of gems - crystal and green. The image has little dots which look beautiful stamped as they are, but make the perfect guide for adding gems. I could have added more, but kept it simple!!

On the inside, I cut a mat layer of light teal card and on the white panel I stamped just a bit of the crown and added another of the sentiments from A Queen's Crown. This card is so easy to make - it can be quick if you do less gems, it can take longer if you do more gems. The crown fits nicely on this large card, but it would work just as well on smaller cards, stamping some of the image. There are some wonderful encouragement sentiments in this set, so I can see it becoming a favourite set. That's all for today. see you next week.
