Birthday Wishes with The Greetery Have a Spine Short Story die

Morning all!

I'm back with another project featuring supplies from The Greetery's Have a Spine series.

This time, it's the turn of the Have a Spine Short Story die set, which creates a mini book complete with details like a bookmark, label for the spine, and decorative corners.

The cover die in this set is the perfect size for cutting out journaling card elements from 6x6 papers. You can easily line it up to frame the element and tape it in place to run through your die-cutting machine.

I'm often left with those cut apart pieces in my paper pads and struggle to use them up, so this was a nice little discovery.

Once I'd assembled the book, I stamped the "Just for you" sentiment from the Curio Labels stamp set on the fountain, and then picked some more papers to build my card around the book.

I cut the cream flower paper with the largest of the A2 Stitched Scallops dies and used another journaling card element to go behind the book.

But I needed something to break up the patterns, so out came the versatile Big Branches Eucalyptus die. I added the twine bow from the Fit to Be Tied die set to the stem for extra detail.

There were some scraps from the 6x6 journaling paper sheets I'd used still on my desk, and I cut some fishtail banners to add at the top using the Sentiment Suite Basics die set. A really simple touch, but it also really helped balance out the card, finishing up that little cluster with a tiny heart cut from the same cream paper.

Finally, I needed something in the bottom left corner, and cut another banner from the Sentiment Suite Basics die set to stamp the "Happy birthday" sentiment on from the Curio Labels set.

Until next time, happy crafting!
