Bright Florals

Bright Florals

I'm still having fun exploring older stamp sets in my stash and thought I would use the lovely Fall Florals to make a simple but stylised Christmas pattern....

First of all I decided to use a coloured background for my pattern instead of white and found a sheet of pale spring green textured paper. The best inks to bring true colour on a non white background are Distress Oxides so I chose a few and started to stamp out my pattern using the largest images first. The texture on the paper gave me some uneven stamping on some of the images but I'm okay with that.

To make the white ink stand out I had to stamp the image a few times and it did actually dry more opaque than I thought it would. I stamped out a pattern larger than the card front so I could trim it down and select the part I wanted to adhere to the card base. I added a few details using a stylus or paintbrush with metallic paints and a sentiment embossed in white onto a strip of blue card.

I really quite like the bright colour palette... not my usual thing at all!

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
