Cacti Crazy

Cacti Crazy

I swapped days with Jen yesterday as my die cut machine broke so I had to order a new one.   Now it's here I could finish my projects with the lovely new Plant a Succulent die set from Lawn Fawn.   If you know me, you know I love a succlent be it the real growing variety or a crafted format - I have them all over our fireplace in knitted, crochet, felt, clay and paper formats!   So this die set had to be mine....

I paired the dies with the bright new rainbow gingham paper pad - one sheet for two cards (zero waste!).   The succulents are fun to play with - there are lots of bits to build your cacti and the pots to house them in.   I went simple for this first make but the combinations are endless.  My next make will be a bigger container with all the cacti in together I think.

For the first card I used the paper as a frame for a square card and added 3 different pots each with one succlent.  I kept my colour combo limited to just teal, green and yellow and added a teal frame to drawn your eye to the central image.   The sentiment is one of my faves from an older Hero Arts set (which is on sale with its matching die) Cactus Animals.

For the second card I took the circle of gingham from the first card and popped it on an A5 card instead - a few dotted red lines to match the red post and the "prickly" sentiment which is also from the Cactus Animals stamp and a black shelf to sit the pot on.   Simple but effective.

Hope that's given you the cacti craze too!

I'll be back tomorrow with something else entirely.

Tara
