Christmas Cards

Christmas Cards

Morning! It's Deborah here with you today and I must give a quick thanks to Bev for swapping days with me. I've made a set of five clean and simple slimline Christmas cards using images from The Stamping Village Holiday Seals stamp set. My cards are standard UK DL size. The stamp set is produced by 12 companies working together and each image is very representative of the company style; so they're very versatile.

There are 12 images in this set. I started by picking four stamps for the background, lined them up in my stamp positioner and stamped five cards. I had planned on five different colours, but ended up with two in gold! But, it's Christmas, so gold is good :) I picked five more images and stamped them on white card. I coloured the images with Copic markers, respositioned them and inked up with black Versafine and heat embossed with clear powder.

I used a circle die measuring 1¾" (45mm) diameter to cut out the coloured images. I used a 2" (50mm) diameter circle die to cut foil mats for the coloured images; a great way to use up some of my smaller scraps. I picked the scraps to match the colour of the stamped images. I used liquid glue to adhere the images flat to the card - I want these cards to be easy to mail.

I added sparkle to all the cards using clear shimmer brushes. It's hard to see from the photos, but all the background images have sparkle as do the coloured images.

I've not stamped anything on the inside of the cards, but I think I'll go through my stamp stash and find some suitable festive greetings. There are three other sets from The Stamping Village - Happy Birthday stamp set, Thinking of You stamp set, and Mail Delivery stamp set. I've got them all and find them really useful.

That's all from me today. I'll be back to my normal Wednesday next week. Have a good day, see you soon.
