Christmas Joy

Christmas Joy

I guess making plans for Christmas is hard this year, but I am hopeful it will still be a season of Joy so I've been making an appropriate card using just dies from the brand new release from Reverse Confetti, and it was a joyful set to play with!

I started with a favourite green cardstock and die cut the solid "joy" from the Wreath of Joy die set from it, then die cut the separate letters and wreath from red to layer them up (nb the wreath went behind, the letters on top)   I then die cut the leaves from the same green and also from a darker green so I could get some dimension.  I layered the same coloured ones flat and then folded the darker ones down the dotted line and glued that onto the line on the one below so the leaves were raised.  I added another layer of green wreath behind and finished with some metallic dots for berries.

To create a fun background I layered up die cuts from the new coverplate dies - The Layering Scallop Circles and the Big Polkas.   The scallops match the "hole" in the wreath so I lined the focal image over the middle one and popped the yellow star shape back in place.   I finished with a hand drawn red line around the edge of the big polkas to tie all the colour scheme together.

Hope it sparks joy for you too!

Tara
