Cocktail Cheers

Cocktail Cheers

Oh my goodness, MFT have had some great card kit releases lately and the Cheers to You products are one that comes to mind. Unfortunately the kit has sold out but the dies and stamp sets are all available separately in store. I've used three of the products to make my card to share with you today.....

The hands are clever because you layer them up to give you the shape and a bit of a colouring guide to help you get some depth in the grasping hand. Have a practice first using your favourite colouring medium... you can be as detailed or stylised as you want. I added a leopard print sleeve and a bracelet of pink beads to mine as well. Now for the drinks, it had to be my fave.... an Espresso Martini. I used acetate to cut the glass and followed Laura's tutorial on You Tube here to make them look more realistic. I did some simple inking for the drink ...... I forgot the ink would react with the glossy accents so there's a little bit of discolouration but luckily it didn't run too much.

Whilst the glossy accents dried ( make sure you leave it long enough... I didn't!!) I cut a piece of white textured card with a frame die and then inked the middle section with Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide inks. I used a die from my stash to cut a piece of grey card to act as a mount inside the frame for contrast. Once everything was dry I assembled all the pieces onto the background and then added the sentiment after I'd made sure of placement with the frame in place.

I'm very pleased with how the Martini's have turned out, the glossy accents really does make the glass look more realistic... just make sure you give it time to dry and harden!! The hands are useful too.... I'm thinking of other items they can hold, perhaps you can too?

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
