I'm making something just for me today - combining a couple of my favourite things - my favourite artist - Salvador Dali (I can stare at one of his pictures for hours and still not see all the things he hides in them!) and my first stamp crush - Stamping Bella who just happened to make a Dali stamp this latest release.

So I couldn't wait to colour up the Dali stamp but I really wanted to colour it just for me, so I decided I make myself a little framed art piece to cheer up the craft room walls.

I stamped him onto some smooth white card and coloured him with my Altenew woodless pencils (which I love!) adding a purple pinstripe to his maroon suit - I felt the colours should be flamboyant to match his character. I added one of the sentiments below, apt to remind me to just go with the flow when what I'm making doesn't come out how I imagined and trimmed it so it was even all around.

To make the background I just copied a few of his paintings and pasted into a word doc for printing - not something you should do if you're making things to sell, but as this is just for me I think it's OK. I cut them out and then collaged them randomly onto the piece of card that comes in the frame. Trimmed off the edges and then mounted Dali on top before framing.

He'll cheer me up when I see him each morning - I do think we should make stuff for ourselves more often as our hobby is basically us making stuff to give away! What would you pick for your walls?
