Easter Bunny Bookmarks

Easter Bunny Bookmarks

We always share little gifts at Easter at my book group and along with the obligatory chocolate, I like to make a bookmark every year, as we do still read books in print.   So today I've got a rainbow of bookmarks using some fun products from Newton's Nook.   These would be great to make a batch for charity if you support any local animal causes too as they're super quick and easy to make - I knocked out these 6 in 30 minutes and you could do more if you set up a production line.

I started with the Bookmark Die and die cut 6 from a variety of cardstock in spring-like shades.  Whilst I had the die cutter out I cut the paws here sentiment and the big paw shape from the same set in white card.

To give them an Easter twist, I pulled out the very popular Bunny Tails stencil from last year's Easter release from Newton's Nook.   This is a two layer stencil.  I started possibly back to front - with the tail - but as that layer also has etched details of the bunny it's super easy to line up.   I wanted to do the tail first as I was planning on using pigment ink in white to create my bunnies and as that can take a while to dry and I wanted to emboss the tails to make them stand out, it was quicker to do those and emboss them first and then stencil the bunny layer over the top so it could sit as long as needed to dry fully.   If you do the bunnies first, you'd have to wait hours before you could emboss without embossing the whole of the bunny.   As you can see in the image below - the bunny stands out better on brigher cardstock - on the mint below he's a little lost but you could add a little grey to make it pop a little more.

Once they were dry, I just added a little scrap of ribbon in either a co-ordinating colour, or white where I didn't have one that felt like a match.  I think all together they'd make a really eye-catching bundle on a craft stall if you sell your makes.

Happy Crafting.
