Every Hour is Happy Hour in Lockdown!
So if you've been to the blog before, you probably know I like a cocktail (particularly if gin is involved!) and my girlfriends and I often meet for cocktails. Not to be defeated by lockdown we've had a couple of cockail parties via Zoom and they've inspired my cards today. I may even use elements from them to do a scrapbook page later to document what we did in lockdown when we look back in years to come.
For the first card I used Martini Time from MFT to stamp and emboss a glass onto a scrap of card - that was the challenge I gave myself to create these cards - no new card (other than the base cards) all the elements were cut from or stamped onto scraps from my snippets drawer. If like me you have lots and want to use more of your scraps - why not play along with Di's Fortnightly Snippets Challenge
I like the new lockdown lingo that's appearing on social media so made the sentiments up from those using MFT's Little Lowercase Letters (question mark from the matching numbers set) but you can spell them out with any alphabet stamp or die that fits your card (check out our alphabet section - we have plenty on offer!)
To finish it off I opted for a secondary sentiment using the A Toast to You stamp set from MFT. A very handy little set for drinks themed cards so it gets a lot of use from me! So who's ready for a quarantini???
For my second card I wanted to widen the drinks theme to any "locktail" so used MFT's Cocktail Hour die set which I've had since release but never yet used and I will be making many of these - LOVE it! those tiny martini glasses are the cutest thing ever. I cut the trolley from grey woodgrain card scraps but it would be cute in gold too and then I just cut bottles and glasses and the cocktail shaker from more snippets in my green and teal theme (yes those shades make up the majority of my scraps drawer!)
I die cut the letters from the same lime green shimmer card but it didn't tie in to my final layout so I darkened it with a copic marker (the shimmer still comes through so that gives endless opportunities for the lawn fawn card!) The bottom sentiment is from A Toast To You again.
NEWS FROM THE STORE
-
MFT have a release this week and our order is in transit. Not sure how quickly it will get here with the extra measures they have in place for the virus, and it will take me longer to sort as it's all down to me at the moment when it gets here, but I will try and get it in store as quickly as I can!
-
Mama Elephant have another release this month but it is a little delayed again. Order is in, we just have to see how close to the 15th arrives.
-
We have orders in with Lawn Fawn, Altenew and Hero Arts. We don't know what is and isn't available from the orders we placed (all the brands tell us after ordering what they have) nor do we know when it will ship - but it will be here at some point!
-
Reverse confetti have postponed their 7th birthday release til June in the first instance but it all depends on virus measures lifting in the USA.
I'll be touching base with the other brands we've not heard from as yet at some point this week so hope to have more updates next Sunday but we are currently living in a "new normal" and there isn't a whole lot we can do about it! We'll get whatever we can when we can.
That's all this week from me - hope you all enjoy a locktail (or mocktail) later!
