Farmyard Happy Birthday

Farmyard Happy Birthday

Hi everyone, it's Ruby here today.

I hope you've had a good weekend. We picked up a cockerel yesterday, so this

is the perfect card for me this week! I'm sure we will regret it at around 4 am tomorrow when it starts singing its head off! So, onto the card:

  1. Die-cut a rectangular panel from patterned paper. I used a yellow polka dot as it reminded me of hay.

  2. Die-cut a smaller rectangular panel from a watercolour card. I used 300gsm weight. There are some great rectangular dies to choose from. Check them out here. The stitched rectangle dies are the most used dies in my studio.

  3. Add a wash of blue watercolour to create a central focal panel.

  4. Add some silver and blue watercolour splats. If you can, do the silver splats before the blue watercolour paint dries, it creates a 'cloud-like' pattern. It's hard to see in the photos but pretty in real life.

  5. Stamp, colour and die-cut the farmyard animals from the Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate More Critters Stamp and Die Set.

  6. Stamp and die cut the coordinating words.

  7. Attach both to the panel to finish.

While I had this stamp set out, I stamped out the rest of the animals and will use this card 'sketch' to create lots more cards in different colours. It was really fun to make and quick to do too.

I must get this little set, it's a great add-on.

Have a fab week. I might be a bit bleary-eyed next week when I post my card, haha.
