Faux Cloisonné Technique

Faux Cloisonné Technique

As we've now got a stock of the entire range of Liquid Pearl colours from Ranger, I thought I'd show you a fun technique with them that gives a faux cloisonné look to your projects.

The brand new Triple Step Hi die from Concord and 9th is the perfect candidate to show of this technique - you want something with spaces in that can be filled with the liquid pearls, so a solid die like this is perfect, or a double stamped and embossed line detail would work too.

I die cut the large hi from blue pearl card from my stash, a nice dark colour to contrast with the bright green, pinks and yellow I'd picked to do the filling.   Once the die cut was glued in place then the fun begins.   All you need to do for this technique is fill the hole with the liquid.   For the leaves I went simple and just used one colour - key lime, but for the flowers I used the wet-in-wet technique to get some shading.   For these I started at the outside the flowers and top of the buds with petal pink and then added the darker shade of rouge to the bottoms/centres.  I finished the open flowers with a dot of daffodil in the middle.   It's a really quick and easy technique but it packs a punch and the results really pop!

Catch you on Sunday
