Feeling Blue

Feeling Blue

Jen here today and I'm concentrating on the image today with a simple colouring technique using dots to give the shading.  I decided to use Feeling Blue from Purple Onion as it is an easy image to colour in.

Since Elliot has such a large open area to colour I decided it would be fun to use dots for some shading and interest using pale grey alcohol markers.  I simply coloured in the whole image with the palest colour and then added dots where the shading would normally go, building up the colour whilst the prior one was still slightly wet.

Once the main layer was dry I went back in with the darkest colour and added some more defined dots, especially around the bottom area.   I decided to use a white gel pen to finish it off and give some highlights to the areas.

Once all dry, I fussy cut the image out so I could "Lay" them on top on the coloured card stock.  For this I used a blue DSP (i have added some suggested packs in the products for you) but you can use any colour for this design depending on who you are sending it to.

I mounted the image on foam pads to give a little dimension before finishing off with a label sentiment.

Thats all from me for today... happy crafting

Jen xx
