Geometric Circle Birthday Cards and a Giveaway!

Geometric Circle Birthday Cards and a Giveaway!

Our week of inspiration for our brand new brand A Pocket Full of Happiness continues today and as promised  - there's a giveaway!

Firstly I wanted to share some more projects I'd made wtih their dies (Apologies that so many products have sold out - it seems you are loving this brand as much as I do!   Sign up for restock notifications on anything you want to see come back as we'll be placing another order very soon!)

I needed a male birthday card this week, and as we know, they can often be tricky but there are SO MANY fab dies from A Pocket Full of Happiness that work brilliantly for male cards.  I love anything geometric and although that tends towards angles - circles can be geometric too.   So for my cards today I used the Circles Background Die which I adore and am really pleased with the very different results I got for my two cards.

I cut the die 6 times from 6 different colours of card - white, grey, lime, aqua, peacock and fig - keeping all the pieces in the die when I removed each and started a new colour (press-n-seal or post-its help here)

For the first card I glued the white frame to a white base card and then had lots of fun gluing all the different colours into the wholes to make a fun psychodelic pattern.  I opted to stamp a simple birthday sentiment over the top to finish it.  You could repeat this process 5 more times with all the extra "bits" you've got to infill with.

For the second card, I used 4 of the frames (everything left but the purple which was too strong a colour for this card) and I glued them together in pairs.  I started with the aqua and grey - the grey was rotated 180 degrees to the aqua.  I did the same trick with lime and peacock.  Then I stacked the lime and peacock just off centre - by moving it up and across by the width of the frame.   Once glued down I trimmed the blue/grey edges so it was back to the width of an A2 card and glued it to a white base card.  I love the fun pattern the layers create and there's lots of texture too.

The sentiment is one that will be back soon and comes from Modern Sentiments Happy Everything Die cut twice from white for speed with the letters coloured with a peacock alcohol marker.
