Going Dotty!

Going Dotty!

Hello, it's Deborah here today. Did you see new recent Altenew release? I went very slightly mad and got several stamp and die sets, and I've gone dotty with a couple of cards. When Kat saw this first card, she decided it would be perfect for her best friend.

I used two Altenew stamp sets for this card - Dots and Boxes and Friends Forever. I created the background by stamping the large 6" x 6" dotty grid pattern using a multicoloured ink pad. I offset the image toward the top right of the card. I think this background is really useful and will work with so many different paper craft projects. Next I stamped the large coffee mug from Forever Friends on white card and used the matching Friends Forever die set to cut it out. I found a scrap of orange design paper and stamped the image again, cut out the coffee mug band and adhered it onto the mug. Next I stamped the hearts, a straw, and the outline BFF sentiment, coloured them with Copic markers and used the matching dies from Friends Forever to cut them out. I added the hearts to the mug and adhered it to the side of the card. I finished the front with the BFF sentiment below the stamped background. I did add some golden shimmer to the hearts and letters.

On the inside, I cut a panel of white card slightly smaller than the base. I stamped one of the sentiments from Friends Forever and added another coffee mug. I edged the panel with an orange marker and adhered it to the card.

Next is a birthday card suitable for a guy - change the colours and it would work for a girl! I created the background using the large dotty grid stamp from Altenew's Dots and Boxes stamp set, stamped in navy. I've used Altnew's Burlap Texture die to cut a navy panel for the centre of the card. To make the sentiment I used an older Concord & 9th die set - Birthday. I cut out the words several times, layered the letters to give them some dimension amd adhered them over the burlap panel. I also added a couple of birthday banners at the top of the card. I used a gold shimmer aqua brush to add sparkle to the words and banners. To finish the front, I used glossy accent on the word 'birthday'.

On the inside, I cut a panel of white card onto which stamped the dotty grid pattern in a soft kraft ink. I finished the inside with a simple, and very sweet, sentiment from Mama Elephant's Birthday Messages stamp set. There are many, many fabulous sentiments in this set.

That's all from me today. See you again next week.

Deborah, x
