Hello Lovely
Hello!
Like many seasoned stampers, including myself, I am sure that Hero Arts were one of the first US stamp companies stamps and products you bought when you first started out. So it will be no surprise to you that their products old and new have a place in my studio.
Last year was their 45th Anniversary and I loved how they collaborated with other top US companies on creating unique stamp sets, including this one I am using today with Altenew, Bloom & Grow.
This big bloom just called my name and it did not disappoint. I love to colour, but I don't always have the patience! There are so many wonderful techniques out there to add colour and interest to a large outline image, including the one I have used.
For this I simply stamped and heat embossed the large bloom onto some pink card. I've then selected a pink pencil in a slightly darker shade to add soft shaded areas to the petals for interest and make it more life like. A much quicker colouring option for when you want to colour!
For the leaves I used Altenew Olive ink from the Tropical Forest collection. I stamped once and masked them to stamp again and the sentiment is from the stamp set stamped in my go to VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
