Make do and Craft
How many times as a crafter have you said "if only I had...." or "I dont have the right stamp" etc? We are all guilty of it! Today I am sharing a Christmas card that was designed with non Christmas products (except for the sentiment)
I chose to use the Stunning Starflowers Stamp set to create beautiful seasonal blooms. I used my Altenew crisp dye inks in Martian Terrain but I realised that the flowers had 5 layers so I needed to add in another colour, I used Blush from the Red Sunset set. I used the Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink Pad to stamp the centre of the flowers.
It was at this point that I realised that I only had the stamp set and not the die or ayering stencil...this was a problem a the leaves for this set are stenciled and die cut!!! So after a rumage through my stash I found some funky leaves in the Playful Plumeria Set, phew! I stamped the leaves using the Green Fields mini ink cubes and then fussy cut all of the images.
To create the background I embossed some 300gsm white card using the Garden Harmony 3D embossing folder, I then swiped the Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink Pad over the surface to highlight the raised areas, I felt that that effect was a little dull so added some Gold embossing powder and heat set. I then run one of the red colours over the edges of the embossed panel.
I added all of the flowers and leaves to the embossed panel using foam tape and then added this to an A2 note card. I stamped a sentiment form the Holiday Wishes Stamp Set which I gold heat embossed and again edged using a red ink pad. I added this to the card and there we have it. Sometimes you just have to make do and craft.
