Maybe it's Coffee

Maybe it's Coffee

Hello, I'm back with the In Good Hands dies again from MFT and this time they're grasping a large coffee, definately oversized but thats the idea behind the phrase.....

This time I used Distress Oxides to colour the hands... Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold in varying amounts and layers. The coffee cup is from a Waffleflower set that is currently out of stock but this set of nesting cups has a similar sized die you could use. For a backdrop I blended Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough inks through a stencil I made using a circle die and scrap paper. The wording is from Perfect Blend... I love the phrases in this set :) Instead of using the stamps in the set to complete the phrase I used a Coffee die cut from Sugarpea Designs instead.

This was originally going to be a card then I changed plans, cut the back off, and made a cardboard shadow box frame to display it in. I found a tutorial on You Tube and made one in Kraft coloured card, it's quite a sturdy frame and a lightweight way of making simple decor items for your home. I found it easier to add the card panel to the frame before folding in the boxed edges...

If you wanted to gift the finished piece you could make a box or, like I did, a simple sliding sleeve to protect it. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to keep it or give it away !! ;)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
