Mondrian Inspired

Mondrian Inspired

Hello & Happy Thursday.

With Father’s Day not far away, I thought I would share a couple of masculine cards using the Concord & 9th Markered Turnabout Stamp Set.

As you know I turn (no pun intended) to geometrics for masculine makes and this Markered Turnabout has a Mondrian feel to it.

I’m loving this colour combo of Poppy, Oceanside and Buttercup for masculine makes at the moment and paired with black and white they really pop.

I started with this design using the colours to stamp the lines, then creating a window for my sentiment, ‘have the best day’ from Pretty Sweet Stamp Set.

I decided to keep my sentiments non Father’s Day. Mainly because I don’t have any and, because I wanted to keep these generic masculine makes.

As much as I liked the result of my first card. I wanted to create a more Mondrian feel and decided to stamp the lines in just black and then add the colours randomly to the rectangle and squares. I used alcohol markers, nice and bright to match the ink colours of my first card.

This time I used the ‘Have the Best Day’ sentiment from the Markered Turnabout Stamp Set. I simply fussy cut around and popped it up with foam adhesive.

Personally I like my second card better. How about you, which is your favourite?

That’s all from me this week.
