Needle & Thread

Needle & Thread

As well as papercrafting I love to sew too so naturally I had to have the new Sew Lovely dies from Concord and 9th. I had seen a quote on Pinterest that I thought they would be perpect to illustrate for my craft space...

I started by using the dies to cut a reel of thread and needle, I love how the layered dies do give the illusion of a would reel. I made a small cut in the top of the needle so I could add a piece of thread through the eye and attach the other end to the bottom of the reel. I used some textured Bazzill cardstock and cut the first part of the quote using Lawn Fawns Coles ABC. After playing around with the pieces I came up with a layout, to help do that I stamped out the rest of the sentiment onto scrap paper and cut the words out so I could move them around too. I find it better to do the stamping first before adhereing the dies, just in case of any stamping mishaps!!! I used the Lovely Letters lowercase alpha which is currently out of stock but you can use the 'back in stock' notifucation system or use your own mix of fonts... just type alphabets into the search bar to see what's in store.

For a final finishing touch I die cut four pins and gave them a reddish orange head, then to make them more realistic I added a blob of Crystal Glaze (Glossy Accents would work here too).... don't they look so good? I did actually pierce the card with a pin and then used a larger pokey tool to make the holes a bit bigger so I could push the pins through... I think they look great like that. I mounted the piece onto a thicker base card which I covered with some patterned paper. Not sure if I'll leave it like that or find a frame for it but it will definitely go in my crafty space :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
