News and Yoga Vibes

Morning all - its another busy working weekend here so I'll keep this brief so I can try and get 10 minutes outside at somepoint and we're going to change it up with news first!

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We received a lot of deliveries on Friday and we're processing them as fast as we can so I have the following to add to store this week:

  • Hero Arts - FedEx managed to get the boxes DHL couldn't deliver here within a week - so we have 4 months worth of stock to add.

  • Waffle Flower Crafts - we have both the June and July releases plus lots of restocks.

  • Reverse Confetti - we have the new release plus restocks.

  • Mama Elephant - they don't normally release in July or August but have a tiny release this month which will be in store on the 15thg along with restocks then there will be nothing new from them until their big birthday release in September.

  • Concord and 9th - have not yet shipped their new release to us - we get asked about their release every month and I repeatedly write here that unlike some of our other brands they do not release to retailers until they have released it themselves.  So yes, we get it EVERY SINGLE MONTH, but it will never be here until the week after they release (we normally get it around the 15th to the 20th of the month)  This month we have the inks and card, full sets of both only not individual colours and we have 10 of each.  They did not allow anyone to buy more than that as they have very limited stocks.   We are waiting to hear when we can buy "normal" levels of stock and get the larger ink pads and individual colours.

  • Altenew - we have a SCARY amount of stock coming from Altenew we're just waiting on them to ship it.  The last couple of releases we've missed plus the upcoming July releases as well as a TONNE of restocks including all the ink cubes which are always popular and hard to keep in stock.

Hopefully now we're caught up we'll keep on top of things more but it is hard to manage everything at the moment without the help we used to have and can't have back at the moment due to social distancing.

That's all I know at the moment - if something you want has not yet been mentioned it is because it is not due within the next 2 weeks.

Now onto this week's make.....

I've made a yoga themed birthday card today using the new Mochi Girl Yoga stamp from Stamping Bella.

It's a simple make - the yoga girl is stamped and coloured with copics and then paper-pieced her clothes with some scraps of patterned paper and to make life easier for that I stamped her again and paper pieced her left arm over the clothes to save fiddly cutting around it.

As Stamping Bella have decided no longer to make dies, I cut her out as if it was a die cut, just allowing a bit of white space all around to show you can still get the die cut look if that's your thing and you don't own an scan and cut type device.  All you need is a good pair of scissors - I use a really tiny pair for fussy cutting but you just need to experiement and find a pair that suits you and remember to move the paper not the scissors as you cut.

I decided to set her in a zen like yoga room so just stuck to a couple of colours - pink and grey - woodgrain on the floor and stripes on the wall with a colour co-ordinated skirting board and frame for the sentiment from the botanical lines pad from Waffle Flower..   The sentiment comes from a new Hero Arts set which isn't in store yet but will be this week and MFT's Bitty Birthday Wishes.
