Postman Pat

Postman Pat

Well my card is actually inspired by Postman Phil - he collects our post every day but today is his last visit as he's moving to a part-time route as he starts to think about retirement.   So I wanted to give him a little parting gift and obviously needed a card to go with it.

I wanted to make something approximating his van, so used the Truck Die from Neat and Tangled (which is on sale now) which makes a great truck shaped favour box, but I just die cut one side and trimmed off the bits I didn't need to make a flat truck shape instead.   I added details using a yellow pencil to give it the Royal Mail "feel".

To create the scene I used the Stacey Yacula Countryside Horizon stamp from Purple Onion Designs and cut a mask so I could ink blend the sky and hills with oxide inks over it for speed colouring.

I added the road using a Lawn Fawn die (sorry currently out of stock but I'm sure many of you have road dies already) and then finished with a sentiment from the Around the Town Sentiment Set also by Purple Onion Designs, which although was designed to pair with the book store in the recent release, it's perfect for retirement/semi retirement/new job cards too!

Hope that's given you food for thought about how to "twist" your dies to do your bidding.

Catch you on Sunday

Tara
