Ride the Wave

We're a long way from the beach but it's so hot today I wish I was closer for a quick dip! So I'm having a virtual beach trip in card form instead.

I made this card using two "new to us" Hero Arts sets that I've been dying to get my hands on ever since I saw a certain US blogger use them a few months ago but lockdown meant they were very delayed!

I started with the Surf's Up die and although I've mostly seen the surfer and shark done as silhouttes, I wanted them more realistic so just die cut from white and coloured with markers. I used 3 shades of blue for the wave but sponges some random ink colours to make it more patchy and added white to the tip.

Everything else came from the Beach Heroscape stamp - I just stamped the sea layers on a white background and then used a blending tool to blend the beach away from the edge of it. I do love the tiny shark fin!
