Snowy Gnomes

Snowy Gnomes

I've been having fun with quick cards this weekend (I've only made a handful so far this year so need to up the ante pronto and managed to crank out 15 whilst watching TV on Friday night)   I've been trying to pick a couple of products I can make a number of cards with by using a few items together to create different looks.   I've been itching to play with the little agenda gomes from Mama Elephant but they sold out so fast I didn't get chance but now they're back I grabbed a set and decided to set them in snowy scenes to make them the star of the cards even though they're diddy images!

First off, I just used one of the Christmassy gnomes with a big bold sentiment over a circle of snowflakes.

I used the sentiment that come's with the Penguins Waddle die over the top of Newton's Nooks Snowflake Roundabout stamp.   Adding a big bold sentiment allows the tiny gnome to play his part and not look lost on a big card.

For the second card I popped my little gnome in a snowy forest scene, framed with a snowflake frame (sorry currently out of stock but will be back in January)   The trees are from my current favourite Tiny Houses die from MFT - they instantly make any card festive!

The final card I combined the snowflake roundabout with the smaller die from the flurry frame die and I stamped the gnome into that and coloured with pencils and added snow using my new favourite white pen - a miaosun acrylic painter marker.

The sentiment is from the roundabout set, I just chopped off the exclamation mark so I could repeat stamp it (meant to pop the ! on the end but I miss-spaced it!) and drew a comma by hand using a pencil the same shade as my ink.

I'll be hanging with my gnomies tonight to make a few more cards too as there are lot more on the stamp set to choose from!

NEWS FROM THE STORE

  • We have the latest release from Waffle Flower Crafts and will get it in store asap but we were inundated with Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle orders on Thursday and are still playing catch up on order packing so it won't be in store until Tuesday or Wednesday this week depending on how fast I pack orders tomorrow!

  • We placed a MASSIVE order with Altenew last weekend for all the stuff we've missed over the last couple of months.  We're waiting for them to process and ship it but hope it will be here before we close for Christmas.

  • There is a new release from Colorado Craft Company today with some more new designs from Anita Jeram - we are waiting for that to ship too but hope that will happen tomorrow so we should have it before the end of this week.

  • We are also waiting for the latest Concord and 9th release to ship - hopefully again that will be tomorrow as we're waiting for the mixed pack card and ink cube sets to come back which they are expecting tomorrow.

That will be all the new stock we have for the rest of the year but things will start to come back in again in early January and we'll be placing orders then for all the major new releases that are normally part of the big US trade show which will of course be an online only event in 2021.

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR STORE CLOSURE

Whilst we are not actually "closing" the store for orders this year, we will be taking a break.  So our last shipping day for this year will be Tuesday 22nd December.  Orders received by NOON (GMT) on that day will ship that day.    Any orders placed after that time and date throughout the festive period WILL NOT BE PROCESSED until we reopen on Monday 4th January.    We will then have over 2 weeks worth of orders to print, pick and pack.  There are only 2 of us to do that.   It will take some time so please do not expect your order to ship immediately.   As always we will work as hard and as fast as we can, but it will take us some time to play catch up.   We may check in a couple of times in between Christmas and New Year but we won't be dealing with any "non-urgent" enquiries until January.   It's been a long tough year and we need a little time to recharge our empty batteries before we start again in the new year.   Thank you in advance for your patience.

The blog will also be taking a break over Christmas so the DT can take a break too.

Thanks

Tara & Rick
