Twice embossed Fathers day card

Twice embossed Fathers day card

With Father’s day fast approaching I thought it was a good time to make a card for my dad. I don’t know about you but my dad doesn’t like fussy cards, sport cards etc which can make it really hard to create something fitting. I thought a classic combination of Navy and Copper with a bold pattern would work well.

I started by attaching the Aztec Motif stencil to some white card using low tack tape, I then applied some embossing paste through the stencil. Once I removed the stencil I added the copper embossing powder and heated it with my heat tool. I love doing this as the embossing paste bubbles up giving lots of detail.

I cut the word dad, using the Tall Alpha dies and heat embossed them with the copper embossing powder. Using the Best Dad stamp set I stamped the sentiment “Thank you dad for everything” and embossed it, I only wanted the beginning and end of the sentiment so trimmed it to remove the word dad.

I added Navy ink over the top of the embossing powder to colour my background, I then added the die cut letters to a banner cut from white card and placed it onto foam pads, I also added the smaller sentiments with foam pads.  The inked panel was the added to a A2 note card.

Thank you for stopping by today.
