Winter Snow Globe

Winter Snow Globe

I thought I'd show some love for my Flora & Fauna stamps and dies today, they have such cute Christmas/winter themed stamps that lend themselves nicely to clean and simple cards ....

The whimsy little snowblobe die is the star of this card, I love its scalloped base. I ran it through my bigshot four times so I could layer the pieces... much easier than using foam dimension under such a narrow edge!! On one of the inner dome shaped pieces, I white embossed the snowy ground and sky from the Woodland Globe stamp set and then softly blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink in from the edges. For the scene I used images from the same stamp set and white embossed them onto coloured card before cutting around them with scissors..... dies are available for this set though.

To make the trees shorter I just cut around the tiers at different heights. The panel of textured card is cut using Waffleflowers Scalloped Squares, I have used the same ink to softly blend in from the edges again. Before assembling the card I added a sentiment and a piece of twine... the scallops hold it in place perfectly :)

You could of course use a layer of acetate and make this into a shaker style snowglobe if you wanted to and use other images from the set instead.

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
