Liz, Rick's sister who used to help us with packing, had a birthday party at Doncaster race course a couple of weekends ago, and I made a personalised party banner for the occassion to match the card I made her too. Now it's all back in stock (and just about hanging on before selling out again!) I thought I'd share it.

Sorry its not the best photo - it was a very sunny room!
It was such a fun project to make - I started by cutting lots of cream banner elements from the Pretty Picado Banner Die (the full on frilly version) enough for every letter in the Happy Birthday Liz! plus 4 extra to start and end and separate the words.
I used my go to Bold Alpha from Altenew to die cut the letters from Matt Gold Card from Concord and 9th as I wanted it grown up and classy, not kids party and they fit PERFECTLY on the banners.
To decorate the banner I wanted some flowers and I am LOVING using Pink Fresh Studio's stencil and die sets - they are so easy to use (video coming soon) and so quick but effective. I used Golden Poppies here - did the stencils 4 times and that gave me enough to create my big bold floral only banners, but have left over flowers and butterflies to add to the other letters too.

This shows some of the floral details close up. I just kept them clear of the top so I could thread twine to make the elements into a banner. The floral panels make good breaks between the words to fill out the banner.

For the matching card, I used lots of the Picado Collection products on the one project. I embossed more cream card with the Pretty Picado Embossing Folder, cut it with the Capsule Basics Die and used the same die to add a red capsule border (with a gold drop on each scallop)
I cut two panels of the same banner die I used to make the banner from a lighter shade of red and layered those up on top of the embossed layer.

I then used the Pretty Picado Die with more cream card and die cut the central panel only from it (again the Capsule Basic die cuts the middle oval) I added a plain gold oval behind it and used the Capsule Border Small die to cut a gold border to which I also cut the Picado die layer (you can use the Capsule Basic die for this, but the fixed border die is easier and more accurate) I added a cream layer behind this to show the detail better.
Once it was all layered up I decided the base card looked a little dull, so I added the corner elements from the Pretty Picado Background Stamp in antique gold ink.
To create the sentiment, I embossed "Birthday Wishes" in gold onto some of the dark red card (sorry I forget now which stamp I used!) and then spelt out SISTER using one of the FAB-U-LOUS new Alphabet dies from Gummiapan - this one is a real bargain two - both upper and lower case letters for under £20!!! It's Alphabet San Diego.
Hope that's given you some inspiration to use this fabulous collection - just make sure you're staying hydrating whilst crafting!
Tara
