Thinking of You Butterfly Card - Lawn Fawn

Thinking of You Butterfly Card - Lawn Fawn

Hi, Terri here! Today I’m sharing a fun and creative butterfly card made using dies and stencils—no stamps required! If you love layered textures and bold, handmade designs, this one’s for you.

To create the focal butterfly panel, I started with the Butterfly Background Stencil from Lawn Fawn and blended a rainbow of inks across the surface. For a little extra magic, I added Fairy Dust Stencil Paste through the second stencil—because a bit of sparkle makes everything better!

While the glitter paste was drying (the hardest part—waiting!), I started on the card base. I cut, scored, and folded a turquoise A2 card, then added some extra interest with a Basket Weave Stencil. Using the same turquoise ink kept everything tone-on-tone.

To create the sentiment, I die cut the Thinking of You Outline Add On Die from a lighter turquoise cardstock. For extra dimension and durability, I cut it twice and adhered the layers together. I then die cut the Scripty Thinking of You Die from gold glitter cardstock and adhered it to the shadow layer.

Now it was time to bring everything together! I started by die cutting a large Oval from the Stitched Scalloped Oval Stackables Die using white cardstock and cutting my butterfly panel using the Small Stitched Ovals Stackables Die. I layered the glittery butterfly panel on top of the scalloped oval and then adhered this to the card base using foam pads for added dimension. Finally, I placed the sentiment in the centre of the oval, again using foam pads to give it extra lift.

I’m really happy with the finished card. Sometimes it’s nice to skip the stamps and focus on texture, colour, and a little extra sparkle! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my post, we try to provide lots of inspiration through the week. Come back again tomorrow for another post.
