We have a family birthday coming up and they just happen to love Polar Bears so I had a rummage through my stamps to find this older Hero Arts set which is actually aimed at the festive season but I matched it with an older alphabet die set to make a birthday card instead....
Doesnt he just look so relaxed? I originally thought this polar Bear would look great lying on top of the sentiment but I couldn't find a suitable font where the letters were all level. I've actually used the lowercase dies for Lawn Fawns Quinns alphabet..... yep thats a very old set but the shape looked just right for letters made of ice!! I cut them in white card then used three blue copic markers (B000, B93, B95) to colour them by dotting the colour on then finished them off with a few small scribbles and specks with a white gel pen...
I made my own stencil for the scenery by cutting a shallow wavy line on some scrap paper and then used masking tape to attach it to my card front. I blended Shaded Lilac, Tattered Rose then Wild Honey Distress ink to make a frosty sky and used copics to add shadow and depth to the snowy/icy ground. The rest of the sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's Says it all stamp set.... love how it just tucks into that space above :)
The bear is stamped, coloured and cut out using scissors and then all the pieces are stuck down using glue so I could add shadows underneath and make them look more 3D. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, especially those icy letters!
Thanks for stopping by, catch you nect week :)
