Hi, it's Ruby. I hope you've had some lovely sunshine as we have up here in Scotland.
Today I have a fun-to-make card to share with you an alphabet die set. Here's how it came together:
-
Using The Greetery's Bold Alphabet Die Set, die-cut the letters to spell out the word thanks. (This is such a gorgeous set, I use it a lot).
-
Stamp and die-cut two floral buds from The Greetery's Alphabuds Floral Details Stamp Set.
-
Stencil a background using Altenew's Mountain Lake Die Ink. The one I used is out of stock, but this Leaf Drop Stencil by Altenew would work really well.
-
With a graphite pencil, add some shading to your stencil to make it look 3-D. Blend the graphite using a paper blending stump, also called a tortillon.
-
Die-cut the stencilled background using a rectangular stitched die.
-
Using some slimline dies, die cut one coloured panel and a smaller white panel.
-
Attached the stencil panel to the card base, then layer the other two rectangular panels on top.
-
Add the word, thanks, and finish the card by adding the two alpha buds.
If you'd like to learn more about the shading technique I've used on this card, I have a video on YouTube here.
That's it from me today. Have a great week!
