Capy Birthday - Lawn Fawn Capybaras

Capy Birthday - Lawn Fawn Capybaras

Hey, Terri here! I am so very excite to share todays card! As you know back in May I had an accident and hurt my shoulder (dislocation and tears to the rotator cuff and bicep, OUCH!) Well today's card is my first full project since then! And boy what a project it was, It took me a while but I knew exactly what I was wanting to create and powered through.

I started by cutting the Riverside Backdrop - Portrait from green card, blue card and Pearl vellum. I used the green version for the grassy riverside, I added some green ink blending and inky splatters. The blue version was for the river, I also used the vellum too, when placed over the top of the blue it looked more like water. Before adhering them togehter I used the little wavy dies to add a cuple of slits in the vellum. There is also an additional hill die which I ink blended and added splatters to. I set these aside to dry.

It was then time to start on creating all the images for my card. I stamped images from the Capybaras! and Capybaras! Add-on stamp set onto white cardstock. I then used the Capybaras! Colouring Stencil and the Capybaras! Add-on Colouring Stencil to add colour to the images, these stencils are so much fun and make colouring the images quick and easy. I added some white gel pen higlights and the cut them out with the Capybaras! Die Set and the Capybaras! Add-on Die Set.

I prepared an A2 white card base, using the Cloudy Stencil I ink blended shades of peach to create fluffy clouds. I then adhered the Riverside backdrop to the card base. I then added the river section, tucking two of the Capybaras in to the die cuts slits. I then added the second hill in the bottom right corner. I always love this part of the card making process, adding all the elements to create a scene.

Adding party hats and blowers, placing the citrus fruit which the Capybaras love so much. The little frog on the rock and the baby Capybara asleep on the other rock melt my heart. I used the Henry's ABCs Die Set to cut the CAPY from pink cardstock. I stamped the remainder of the sentiment from the Capybara! stamp set. Lastly I added a white die cut from using the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame Dies.

I am so happy with how this card turned out, it really was so much fun to create. Thank you for stopping by today, have a good week.
