Legend-diary Birthday

Legend-diary Birthday

Whilst the Little Agenda series from Mama Elephant is super-cute - we know that sometimes people struggle to know what to do with the small images and lack of sentiments - well - I'm here to help!

The new cows are so adorable and so quick and easy to colour too so I've made a quick card today to help you with a layout idea. I love to create my own sentiments - often the ones that come in sets don't quite say what I want them to so I often cut bits up to make them say what I need. So a set without sentiments gave me the chance to get my creative head on - I played around with a few options:

  1. Happy Birthday to Moooo!

  2. Wishing you a LEGEND-DIARY Birthday

  3. Herd It's Your Birthday

  4. Holy Cow It's Your Birthday

  5. You're How Old? Pull the UDDER one!

  6. I heard you're mooving one - Congrats on the moo job (or house)

  7. To a friend like no udder

  8. Have a fab-moo-lous day!

With a small alphabet stamp and die set you can pretty much create any sentiment you fancy. Or if you find that too intricate, you can print and cut the sentiment instead - online aps like Canva have lots of fun graphics tools and they're free!

I opted for No 2 as I liked the pun but also that I could cut that bit from a die to fill the middle of my card and stamp the other bits above and below. This helped me with the "what to do with the small stamps" problem. I used the die cut letters and stamping to "sit" my cows on. The letters are die cut from Fig card by Concord and 9th and cut using my favourite alphabet die for this type of project - it's a nice small size so you can get a good sized phrase on a small card with it. Connected by MFT. The sentiments come from PreText Sentiments and All Kinds of Happy both by The Greetery.

The cows were just quickly coloured with copics with just 3 colours - pink noses, beige horns and hoofs and random black spots. Purple accents to match the die cuts. I finished by added some purple lines with a pencil to frame the design and draw the eye to the centre.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We should get our Waffle Flower delivery tomorrow - it's unlikely we'll get it in store tomorrow as we've had a lot of orders for our SugarPea Designs sale so we'll be busy packing those tomorrow, but we'll get it added as quickly as we can.

Concord and 9th have a new release out on the 9th which as they peeked on Friday means I can tell you there are 6 new colours coming in inks, card and dots! The last time they released new colour it flew out so keep your eyes on our socials if you want to be in the first to know when we get it - likely next week not this.

Happy Crafting

Catch you next week
