I've been waiting for these dies to come back into stock - I loved them as soon as I saw them but so did you all and they sold out super fast! We had a big restock delivery yesterday though so lots of The Greetery products are now back in stock so I grabbed a set and got busy last night.
I really loved The Greetery's video using flocking sheets to give realistic looking buds, but as I don't have the sheets, I thought I'd give felt a go instead and it worked like a charm. The Pussy Willow dies are really easy to use - they are made in pairs so it's easy to work out which buds fit which stems. I cut the buds from white felt and then used a couple of pale alcohol markers to add a little greenish shading to the bottoms where the stems would be. It's easier than you would imagine to colour on felt - just dot the colour on rather than dragging the markers across the felt. I die cut the stems from pale brown card and then added some darker shading with aqua markers but you could use ink blending, any markers, pencils - whatever floats your boat. Then just glue the stems onto the felt. I cut all 3 different stems to get a little bunch for my card.
To create my card I used the Nordic Circles dies to create the background circle - pokcing the little diamonds out so the white card base showed through. I added a strip of pale blue card centrally over the top and placed my stems onto it. I finished it was a big bow from the Fit To Be Tied die set which has several really useful bow dies and is already a firm favourite from The Greetery. The hardest part was chosing the colour of the bow - I cut 7 before I made my mind up (there is a different shade of blue hiding under the navy as I changed my mind again!) I added a sentment from Concord and 9th's All The Birthday's stamp using a dark brown ink to match the stems.
Right - time to get all your Greetery restock orders shipped - it seems the out of stock notification system went into overdrive over night!
See you Sunday.
