Hello & Happy Thursday.
With autumn just around the corner, I am embracing the season of change with a couple of gratitude cards. Although we express our gratitude all year long, I think autumn gives us the reminder and opportunity to be even more so grateful.
One of my favourite stamp sets with leaves in is the WPlus9 Winter Greenery. I love the two step leaves, sprigs and berries in this set, which I have used today.
For my first card I wanted to frame this ‘so grateful’ sentiment from Concord & 9th Painted Peony Stamp Set. The font of this sentiment is beautiful and reminds me of autumn leaves floating down from the trees.
I’ve always thought it a little odd that the coordinating Winter Greenery dies don’t have a die to cut out the largest leaf, but for this first card I stamped the largest leaf on my white mat layer.
I used a mix of Altenew inks from the Natures Wonder collection, the Tropical Forest collection and the Coffee Break collection. I often reach for these with layering stamps as they really do take the thinking out of the process!
This card lead onto my second card today and this time I wanted the larger leaf to be the focal point and this time I fussy cut it out after stamping.
I used the small paint swatch stamp from Concord & 9th Playful Patterns and the ‘Ever So Grateful’ sentiment from Hey Bestie stamp set. The little cluster of dots is from another Concord & 9th set, Flower Turnabout.
I’ve mounted both my cards today on a Kraft card base, again the time of year (to me) signifies a time to touch on the rustic feel a little more!
Well, that’s all from me this week. Crafty Hugs Bev
