A Rabble of Butterflies

A Rabble of Butterflies

Good morning! Happy New Year to you all! I’ve got three cards to share this morning. I used Concord & 9th’s Fluttering By Turnabout stamp on them all and used my stamp positioner to create all the backgrounds. I do have to apologise about the quality of the photos. Here’s the first card:

For this card I used a mixture of red and purple inks to make the background. I used the separate butterfly body and trail stamps to add the details in black ink. I trimmed the panel to 4¾” square and layered it onto a piece of red card 5” square. Before adding the panel to the front of a 5¼” square white card, I stamped the word ‘happy’ in black ink. I finished the front with the die cut word ‘birthday’. This is one of several words in The Greetery’s Birthday Blooms stamp set. I cut it out with the matching Birthday Blooms die. I cut one extra blank die and layered them together and then added the word to the card. There is some dimension, but it is still flat enough to go through the post safely.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of red card. On the white panel I stamped a fun greeting from Altenew’s Just A Number stamp set. I also added a couple of butterflies. My second card is also a birthday card:

This time I used bright colours for an, almost, rainbow look. I trimmed the panel to 4” x 4¼” and adhered it to the bottom of an A2 (US size) card. I added a strip of bright blue card above it, and a thin strip of holographic card for some sparkle. I stamped the first part of the greeting phrase directly onto the card. I stamped the word ‘celebrate’ on white card and used the matching die to cut it out.

Inside, I cut a mat layer of blue card. On the white panel I stamped a birthday greeting from Mama Elephant’s Mixed Wishes Greetings – there are so many super greetings in this set. I finished the inside by adding a few more sweet butterflies. My final card has lots of sparkle:

I went for a monochromatic look for this card using shades of orange and yellow. I trimmed the panel to 4” x 5¼”. Before adhering the stamped panel to the copper glitter paper, I die cut the large ‘hi’ from the centre of the paper, I then adhered the stamped panel. You would never know!! I adhered the whole panel to the front of a top folding A2 brown card. I finished by adding the copper ‘hi’ to the front of the card. You could use any large die such Mama Elephant’s Big Fuzzy Hugs die.

Inside, I cut a piece of white card 4” x 5¼” and stamped a fun greeting from Mama Elephant’s Easy Sentiments stamp set. There is a die to co-ordinate with the stamp set which cuts each sentiment into separate strips, but I wanted to use them all together in this card. There is also a Christmas stamp set that works with the die!

That’s all from me today. I’ll see you again next week. Keep safe.
