A Trio of Cards

A Trio of Cards

Good morning! Deborah here with you today. This is my last post as I’m stepping down from the team. It’s been an honour and pleasure to be part of Tara’s design team. I’m finishing off with three cards. This is the first:

A bright, bold, birthday card. I used Waffle Flower’s Zigzag Texture Die to cut the card and create the stitched pattern. To add colour, I used Waffle Flower’s co-ordinating stencils – a pack of three which layer. You might notice that there are four colours on the card – that’s because I put one of the stencils in the wrong place, added ink, and then I realised I’d made a mistake. However, I didn’t want to waste the panel, so I simply put the stencil in the correct place and ended up with a slightly different pattern. I rather like it!! Because of my mix up, I did have some odd marks at the edges, so I used a stitched-edge die to cut the panel slightly smaller and layered it onto a mat black layer. I stamped a bold birthday greeting in black onto the panel and adhered the whole lot to the front of an A2 white note card. I finished the front with a floral image which I stamped and coloured with Copic markers. I fussy cut it out and used dimensional pads to add it to the card.

Inside, I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white panel I stamped the floral image at the bottom in soft grey ink and added a birthday greeting verse.

Next is a sympathy card. I used the same Zigzag Texture die to make the panel and I added shades of grey with the stencils (this time correctly). I stamped a sentiment on the front and finished by added embossed leaves and flowers (from my left-over stash).

I kept the inside of the card very simple. I stamped a message on the white card and added leaves and a flower.

Next is another sympathy card, this time I used the Sketched Dots Turnabout stamp directly onto the front of an A2 card – I only did three turns to keep it quite simple. I stamped a sentiment and added flowers.

Once again, I kept the inside of the card simple. I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white panel I stamped a message, and added some of the sketched dots.

Once again, I’d like to say thanks to Tara and Rick for asking me to be part of their team. It’s been great fun, and you might see me from time to time. Take care, keep safe. That’s all for today.
