All Aglow

All Aglow

Morning all!

I'm still trying to replenish my card basket ready for upcoming birthdays, so it's a perfect opportunity to make multiple designs with the same supplies.

For today's projects I used the wonderful All Aglow layering stencil set from The Greetery.

I selected a rainbow of ink colours to work with and wondered how these colours would also look on a non-white background like pink for example...

I completed all the stencil steps up to adding the wicks to the candles, but wanted to use a different style of flame for these candles. The flames in the stencil set add a circular glow, but I love the flame design of the candle in the Make a Wish set from Concord & 9th and happily found that those flame stamps fit perfectly.

I used the sparkler elements from The Greetery's Make a Wish stamp set to fill in the white space - it's a really subtle look on the pink card with that tone-on-tone stamping.

When it came to assembling my cards, I really didn't want to cover up too much of those lovely candles. The Make a Wish stamp set that coordinates with the All Aglow stencils features some great sentiments, including the large Make a Wish sentiment.

I stamped this on white cardstock and cut it out with the matching shadow die. By chopping a bit off the top of this background I was able to center the Make a Wish sentiment and add some fun details at the bottom.

For the pink card, I simply stamped the sentiments from the Make a Wish stamp set on the PreText Banners, using selective inking to omit the ampersand at the end of one of the sentiments to get the word order I wanted.

And there we have it, two different looks that started out in exactly the same way.

Until next time, happy crafting!
