All The Fun of The Fair

It's our wedding anniversary today so I'm going to be brief so I can have a lazy afternoon with the hubster.
I made my card for this week on Friday and created my very own fun fair using some Avery Elle peek-a-boo sets.
I wanted to combine the Peek-a-boo fair with the Peek-a-boo Coaster so made a "lift and slide" combo. I stamped the wheel onto card allowing a cm on the left edge I could fold, coloured the cars and then die cut ensuring that the left hand edge of the die was not under my top cutting plate so it cut all the wheel bar the left edge (you may need to finish off a few bits with scissors and a knife) and then scored and folded the edge to create the "front" of the card that opens up to reveal the coaster slider behind.
For the coaster I stamped the coaster onto the bottom of a panel cut to fit my base card and then I used the matching die to create a slider for the coaster car. You need the partial die cutting technique here - the die matches the curve of the coaster but it cuts it out entirely. I taped it in place and then cut it by having my top plate not cutting either end (go half way, rotate and finish to make sure you stop short of BOTH ends). Then move it up enough to take a slider element and repeat to get your slider channel. Trim the edges with a knife. I added speckled egg oxide to give a feel of being in the air and stamped the sentiment whilst the panel was flat.
I added the car and skunk from the coaster set and used a slider element to fix it to the panel so it could "coast" along. I stuck the folded over flap from the wheel behind the coaster panel. Added the animals from both sets (plus peek-a-boo jungle) to the pods and then die cut another full wheel (edge included this time) to glue behind to cover the back of the heads when opening it.
To finish, you just need foam tape around the edges of the panel, and above and below the slider channel (being sure to leave enough space for the slider to slide) and then fix the whole thing to your card base.
Hope that gives you some inspiration for ways to combine sets!
NEWS FROM THE STORE
It's been a very stressful week with lots of issues that took a lot of my time so we are behind on adding product that has arrived and ordering upcoming releases and restocks. Time is the one thing I can do little about. So as we've also been answering a lot of questions that feature in our FAQs - please check there first before asking something. If your quesiton is about stock coming that isn't mentioned below and is from one of our regular brands - it will be coming - it just aint here yet! Watch this space - I will tell you what I know when I know it!
-
So - Hero Arts - we asked DHL to pick up on 17th June, they didn't pick it up for over a week, it then spent another week at a hub in cincinatti, didn't move and is now on its way back to Hero Arts! (see told you it was a problematic week!) So once they finally get it back, we are going to use another shipper to try and get it here. Currently have no idea how long that will take.
-
Stamping Bella - is here - just need time to add it store. Will do it as soon as I can but I am NOT working today!
-
Newton's Nook - is also here - same as above.
-
MFT have a new release this week - they had issues so it has not yet shipped so may not be here on Tuesday for release.
-
Waffle Flower Crafts - we have the June and July release on order. Hope it will ship this week with restocks too.
-
Reverse Confetti have a new release coming - its on order and should ship this week.
-
Concord & 9th - are releasing their colour collection but it is VERY LIMITED - we will only have ink cube bundles and rainbow card packs initially and in VERY SMALL quantities. They are still waiting for the factory to get up to speed so until then we can't order the big ink pads or the rest of the range individually. They have a stamp and die release too and that as usual won't ship until after the 9th when they release it themselves so we will likely have that around 15th-20th July.
-
Mama Elephant have a very small release this month and then have a break for summer and will be back with their big birthday release in September which we have to order next week! The July relase and restocks will be here on the 15th.
-
Altenew - we are half way through an order to Altenew - it takes me around 6-8 hours to do an order for them as there is so much to check off. Hope to finish it early this week and then we should be back up to date but as they have a release 3-4 times a month, we will never be 100% on top of it - it's just impossible.
-
Lawn Fawn restocks - we will be ordering restocks from Lawn Fawn later this week, they are likely to be sold out of many items themselves and don't have a live ordering system so we just have to order and keep our fingers crossed. We won't received them until end of July as it takes around 3-4 weeks for them to process orders under normal cirumstances and they are still not at 100% staffing.
That's all this week folks.
