Altenew 6th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 4 + Giveaway

Today's blog post is a little different as I am joining Altenew to celebrate their 6th Anniversary as a sponsor of their blog hop so hello to any of you who are new to our blog and our store where you can find Altenew products in the UK without import duties to pay.

Today's hop features their scrapbooking team so I'm stepping out of my CAS card comfort zone and doing a scrapbook layout from our wedding, which was almost 13 years ago so it's probably about time I got around to having a go really!

I used a single page pocket from a Sn@p Binder which is just 6 x 8½ inch so not too daunting a space to fill for a novice and decided to just focus on framing a single photo with some Altenew products to make it stand out.

I began with the idea of focusing the design to one side and using washi tapes as the base, so I added a stripe of Gold Stripe Washi Tape and bordered that on either side with the brand new Morning Glory washi tape as it had a lot of the colours I love and were themes of our wedding (teals and greens which is why our logo is in the colours too by the way - it all came from our wedding!)

So for the opposite side of the page I wanted as softer look, so decided to match the soft white of the washi tape with some soft white inking through a stencil to decorate the corners.  Using the new Hand Drawn Tile Stencil which is really versatile - I just used one part of the stencil here and you can mask off and use lots of different areas independently rather than just the whole stencil every time.

I used the new Nesting Frames dies to cut out the photo as it's a more interesting shape than a normal photo shape, and added a dark teal matt with the next size die in the set.   Then to add some interest used the new Open Blooms 3D Die to create a rose and some leaves using the new shimmer cardstock from Lawn Fawn.

The sentiment I used comes from our first dance, which was the You and Me song by the Wannadies.   It's our moto for life together - you and me, always and forever - as long as we're together we can do anything.  I create it from die cut letters from the Tall Alpha Die set and from the Forever and Always stamp set but I cut that apart so I could switch it around to fit the song lyrics!
