Autumn Nuts

Autumn Nuts

Hi all, hope you're having a nice Sunday.   As things are changing again I've got a card to send to friends we can't see in person right now (unless we want to do it outside in the cold and damp that is!)

I've been itching to play with this fabulous leafy border die from MFT stamps - I love the texture and the shapes.   Here I die cut it from yellow card that was cut to fit the front of my card so I could include a fine border around it in the original colour.   I then used my oxide inks to just randomly colour the leaves to give that changing of the seasons feel and try out the new Cracking Campfire colour which is perfect for autumn leaves.  [As we are strugging to get full sets from Ranger, we are no longer selling oxides in sets but only in individual colours - we're converting the listings at the moment so watch the website for the individual colours soon]

The space in the centre of the frame is the perfect size to fit the adorable squirrel in his acorn from the Aw Nuts Set from Avery Elle.   I stamped that directly onto cartdidge paper so I could use my inktense pencils to colour it with - if you've not tried them, they are a water soluable pencil that gives and inky finish rather than watercolour.  You can use them wet or dry and get a different finish.  I'm not an expert with them but do like the solid colour the give.

I used the extra little characters and mushrooms from the set and fussy cut them so I could nest them in amongst the leaves (use the matching dies if you're not a cutting fan) - the bird at the top actually comes from the Woodland Scene Builder set by the same artist so it matches in style and size and was facing the way I needed!

To finish I added a sentiment from the Safe At Home stamp from Waffle Flower Crafts which is full of sentiments useful for lockdown 2.0!
