Birthday Confetti

Birthday Confetti

Morning!! Deborah here with you today – I swapped with Tara!! It was Tara’s birthday yesterday and I made her a card – this is it:

I took a piece of white card 5½” square, placed it in the centre of my jig and put it the corner of my stamp positioner. I created the background pattern with Concord & 9th’s Confetti Dots Turnabout stencil. This is very easy to use. I marked one corner of the Turnabout stencil with a permanent marker, put it in my stamp positioner and stencilled on yellow ink. Then, instead of turning the card and jig, as I would with the stamps, I simply turned the stencil through 90º. I repeated this process with the remaining inks. I used a large scallop and stitch edged die to cut out a panel for the front of the card. I also die cut a piece in black card which I cut diagonally resulting in two pieces which I glued behind the main panel to create a shadow layer. I adhered this panel to the front of an A2 side-opening note card. I die cut a cute little cupcake for the front of the card and used the matching stamps to add colour. I also die cut several cupcake pieces from scrap card to make the cupcake stronger. I layered the pieces together and glued the cupcake to the card. I finished the front by stamping a bold birthday greeting and added glitter to the cake frosting.

For the inside of the card, I cut a mat layer of black card. On the white panel I stamped a birthday greeting and added confetti exploding out of the greeting.

Provided the post has been okay – Tara should have received this card yesterday – so it’s safe to share here now!!

That’s all for now. See you next week.

Deborah, x
