Christmas Time

Christmas Time

Morning! Deborah here today. I’ve got a couple of Christmas cards to share with you. I’ve been making Christmas cards all year, and I only have a few more to make. So, the new releases from Lawn Fawn and Concord & 9th were perfectly timed. I’ll start with a card in non-traditional colours:

I used Concord & 9th’s Yuletide Ornament stamps and the matching Yuletide dies for the focal image on this card. I stamped the ornament on water colour card with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I spritzed the ornament with water and clear shimmer sprays and used a brush to add shades of pink and purple inks. Once dry, I cut out the ornament and layered it onto two more plain white die cut ornaments. Initially, I was going to have a plain background, but decided to create a text background instead. I used stamps from Concord & 9th Big On Christmas stamps, MFT Itty Bitty Holiday stamps, and C&9 Yuletide Ornament. I adhered the yuletide ornament to the card and finished the front with a bold Christmas sentiment from Yuletide Ornaments and cut out with the matching die.

Inside the card I cut a mat layer of pink card. On the white panel I stamped the pretty ornament in a soft pink ink. I finished the inside by adding a greeting in black ink – this one came from Yuletide Ornament.

This card features the holly sprig from C&9 Yuletide Ornament stamp set. I stamped the holly on white card, coloured with Copic markers and then restamped all with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold powder. I used the matching die from Yuletide Ornament die set to cut out the coloured images, along with several plain white dies. I layered the top two holly sprigs on two more die cut layers. I created the background panel by stamping the little snowflake stamps from Lawn Fawn’s Giant Holiday Messages stamp set. I used Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I used several shades of blue and green to blend over the panel and reveal the snowflake background. I cut the panel to 3” x 5½” and adhered to the right side of the A2 notecard base. I made the gold trim by rubbing Versamark ink onto white card and heat embossing with gold powder. I did this process twice to give a nice smooth gold panel. I trimmed a ½” wide and adhered that to the side of the snowflake panel. I adhered the layered holly sprigs to the top and middle and added the single layer holly sprig at the bottom. I finished the front with a sentiment from C&9 Yuletide Ornament, stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I used the matching die from Yuletide Ornament die set to cut out the sentiment along with three white dies, which I layered together.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of pale aqua card. On the white panel I stamped one of the large sentiments from Lawn Fawn’s Giant Holiday Messages. I used Copic markers to colour the leaves and open letters, restamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear powder.

That’s all from me today. See you again next week.
