Colorado Craft Company Week!

Colorado Craft Company Week!

As Colorado Craft Company has now come to many of our customer's attention thanks to their collaboration with Anita Jeram the artist behind the "Guess How Much I Love You" book, we thought we'd do a special week on the blog from Sunday to Sunday where the DT all feature one of their recent (non Anita) stamps.  This is a really diverse brand (and one of my personal favourites) so we hope this will encourage you to look at their back catalogue.

I really love their "Big & Bold" range - these 6x6 stamps feature BIG images that easily fill a card front and are often really detailed and great for lots of colouring techniques.  My first card today features a couple of those - Big & Bold Tickled Pink Flamingo and Big & Bold Italian Tiles LG.

I coloured my flamingo with watercolour pencils and then added a tiny hint of cosmic shimmer paints for a bit of sparkle.  I then just it out and glued it onto a pink card (Concord and 9th Ballet Slipper) onto which I stamped two of the tiles from the Italian Tiles stamp in Grapefruit and Sorbet to add texture to the background.  I did this by cutting the stamp into 4 separate tiles (easily put back together should you want to stamp it as one) and for the second stamp I overstamped second generation ink so its subtle texture.   Finished with a sentiment from the same flamingo stamp.

I wanted to do some more watercolouring so opted for one of their new floral stamps - these have some scripture on them as well as some more general sentiments.  I'm not religous myself, but I think the floral images are so lovely that I don't mind that I won't use all the sentiments.  I used My Whole Heart and after colouring and water blending with my pencils just simply cut it out with the co-ordinating die.  [NB, there is a tiny error on the die, it cuts a bit of the flower it shouldn't - I've popped the piece back into mine but it's not perfect so I've left CCC know and removed the dies from sale for now].  I die cut a matching sized circle from some green card and ink blended a blue backgound on the base card before sticking my die cut image over the top and finishing with a sentiment from the same set.

To celebrate this special week, readers who leave a comment on each of the 8 posts this week will be put in a draw to win the two stamps I used on my flamingo card.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

  • We've got the latest release from Newton's Nook and they will be in store mid-week once we catch up on this weekends order packing.

  • We have some restocks and the elements from this months kit from MFT coming this week too.  The vault release they are currently peeking is not yet available for us to buy - we will get it with the November release.

That's all for this week.
