Coming Up Roses!

Coming Up Roses!

Hello, I hope you are all well, safe & staying sane!

It has been lovely Spring weather here in the UK and luckily we have a nice front & back garden to use and make the most of being stuck at home! The flowers are starting to bud and bloom, which inspired me to use one of my recent purchases, Avery Elle Layered Rose clear stamp set.

The watercolour style of this rose and the simplicty of the stamp set really appealed to me. The rose is a 4 step layering stamp and the style is really forgiving when lining up the layers.

I used my stamping tool to stamp the rose, as my inks are not as juicy as they once were and the first solid layer is quite large. If your inks are nice and juicy and you are confident in achiving a nice solid image on the first stamp, you can easily stamp the rose without a stamping tool.

The stamp set also contains a 2 step stamp leaf sprig and 6 sentiments in a lovely San Serif font. I stamped the leaves by hand, not using a tool. There are matching dies for this stamp set too, these are handy if you are not one for fussy cutting AND having the dies provide more options to techniques.

I've used Altenew inks in Sea Shore, Pocketful of Sunshine and Spring Bouquet to stamp the roses and the leaves. And my usual VersaFine Onyx Black ink for the sentiment.

The roses are a beautiful size and really take centre stage of a card, so not much else is required. You know how I love a clean and simple card ;)

I added a little bit of dimension to the pink and teal roses and one of the leaf sprigs for interest and also so my card didn't look too flat.

I hope I have added some cheer to your day. Happy Stamping! Bev x
