Flock of Seagulls

Flock of Seagulls

I bet you're thinking of the eighties synth group now aren't you!! Well these aren't the musical kind of seagulls but they do love being together and they perfectly paired up with this sentiment too...

I love the Thick and Thin lines background, it definitely shouts water to me although doesn't have to be. I started with a card base and debossed a frame onto the front using an A2 rectangle frame, unfortunately these dies are out of stock at the moment but you could use any shape here or use two rectangle dies to make your own frame. Using the frame as a guide, I masked the outer edges and then blended blue Distress Oxide inks onto the card front. With the stamp I used white pigment ink and a blue Distress Oxide separately to add a wavy background then set aside to dry.

I stamped out a few of the seagulls and coloured them before cutting them out, I stamped a few extra wooden groynes so all three could perch. Rather than cutting around the legs I stamped them instead onto the card front by selectively inking just the legs on a couple of the gulls. Then all I had to do was attach the images using foam dimensionals, positioning them as though theyre having a good chat!! :)

The sentiment is from the Spring Songbird set and seemed just the perfect match for these Gullfriends!! What a great card to send to a mate you haven't seen for a while.... which is quite likely at this time!

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
