Framed Snowdrops

Framed Snowdrops

Snowdrops are in full bloom at the moment and it's a sign that Spring is just around the corner... something to definitely look forward too. Altenews Craft-a-flower Snowdrops die was a "must" to add to my stash, it's quite clever how the dies cut pieces that can be assembled in many ways to make blooms of different sizes and stages of flowering....

I decided to watercolour a panel of card with a few different shades of green and let it dry so I could cut a range of leaves, stems etc, and the petals are cut from white card. I assembled a few flowes and buds together before starting to arrange the stems. The scalloped card panel has an aperture cut into it using a Reverse Stitched Scallop frame and, most importantly, I remembered to stamp my greeting before doing anything else!!

I found it easier to attach a few of the stems through the frame before it was adhered to the card front and added some of the flowers as I went so the arrangement look balanced, I love the way the bunch spills through the frame :)

This is one of those die sets where you can cut lots of pieces and make lots flower heads up, any you don't use for a project can be saved for future use...... at least you know you'll always want green leaves and white flowers. I think they're so pretty and definitely a breath of fresh Spring air!!

It seems you all love Snowdrops too as since writing this blog post the die has sold out but it's coming back in stock soon so you wont have long to wait... apologies.

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
