Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

Morning! Deborah here with you today. It’s my last post before Christmas. I have finished pretty much everything I need to do, apart from picking up food from M&S on Friday. The tree is up, cards sent and presents wrapped. So, I’ve been working on a fun birthday card for my great-niece who will be 8 years old on Friday.

I used Altenew’s Shattered Cubes stencil to create the background. I only used Stencil 1 and turned it four times inking with a different colour each time. I like the clean, graphic look. I cut it to size, layered the panel on black card and added to the front of a US A6 card (6¼” x 4½”). I had some die cut pinwheels left over from the cards I made a couple of weeks ago. I used the co-ordinating stencil to add colours to match the background panel and adhered them flat to the card. I added a simple birthday greeting made using Altenew’s All the Wishes die cuts – I cut three black shadow layers and a white sentiment. I stamped the word ‘happy’ directly on the card and adhered the die cut word. I finished by adding some black enamel dots to the centre of the pinwheels.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer of black card. On the white panel I stamped a bold greeting and lightly stencilled a few more pinwheels to echo the front of the card.

That’s all from me today. I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you soon.

Deborah, x
